Some parts of Santo Domingo beyond the Colonial Zone, such as areas with high local crime rates or those near noisy industrial zones, are best avoided. Booking hotels near busy nightclubs can result in noise disturbances. Also, some northern coastal towns experience seasonal closures or reduced services during the hurricane season, so verify accommodations’ operational status when booking between June and November.
